This is a full-time position based in the Dublin studio, and there is flexibility for remote working but applicants should be able to work in the Irish timezone as the studio.
Starting date: ASAP
Maintain close communication with the Director(s), other Supervisors, and the Animation Team(s) to perform tasks in line with a given show’s aesthetic, style, and quality level.
Help develop the animation style of a show & maintain the style and quality throughout the project.
Support and guide the Animation Team(s), assigning tasks based on the overall production schedule and in consideration of varying skill levels within your team.
Work closely with the Rigging department to test rigs and give informed, constructive feedback on performance-specific requirements.
Scrutinise every shot/finished animation and revise it as needed before sending it to the Director(s).
Participate in Client reviews and take the lead on the internal daily reviews with the Animation Team(s).
Review Animatic(s) to foresee potential difficulties with the episode and divide tasks across the team.
Complete / Delegate any necessary adjustments to the work that the Director or Client requests.
Make sure that the whole Animation Department on a given production meets all internal and external deadlines.
In the Animation Department, resolve issues or complaints constructively and efficiently, and escalate difficulties as needed.
Ensure ongoing communication with Production about the team’s progress toward the schedule by working closely with the Animation Lead(s).
Keep up to date in regards to new tools and software(s), including data management, and other related technologies that will help drive efficiency and evolution within your department.
Willingness to help on episodes / films with taking on shots, creative retakes, holidays, sick days, etc. as needed.
Be proactive in mentoring and developing all members of the animation team on a project.
Assess prospective animation hires and work with Production Management on hiring decisions.
Demonstrated experience in Animation Production as either a Supervisor or a Lead Animator.
Strong familiarity with and aptitude for using the Principles of Animation.
Strong Leadership and people skills and the ability to confidently Lead and support a diverse team.
Thorough knowledge of Maya and operational understanding of other DCC software(s).
Good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and can deliver high-quality results in a dynamic environment.
Strong organizational and time management skills and a good eye for detail.
Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
Adept at drawing and visual communication skills, as well as a solid understanding of Production and Technical Resources.
