IT Systems & Support Engineer

Position Overview

Due to the nature of this position, this role is based on-site with limited options to work remotely.

In this role, you will be working with our awesome IT department to provide day-to-day end-user support for their employees. As well as maintaining the studio’s technology stack and carrying out any other day-to-day IT operations. As this is a production environment, you must be capable of quickly changing focus while keeping track of everything on the go.

Position Responsibilities

  • Support a wide array of software, both internally-developed and third party.
  • Support multiple hardware and operating system platforms, including Mac, Linux, iOS and Windows, as well as related software & accessories.
  • Support general tech hardware, ie: workstations, laptops, printers, displays, tablets, etc.
  • Set up new employee workstations, including machines, equipment, software, network connections and cable management.
  • Installing, maintaining, and upgrading PC workstations, peripherals and application software.
  • Providing End-User support for employees.
  • Maintaining an accurate record of hardware inventory.
  • Provide services for onboarding and tech training for new hires.
  • Collaborate with other technology teams as needed to determine the best solution to challenging issues.
  • Maintain and clean existing equipment.
  • Clean, maintain and organize storage rooms.
  • Continuously monitor and manage storage, networking, and computing infrastructure.

Position Requirements

  • At least two years’ experience in a similar role.
  • BA/BS/MS in Computer Science/related field or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of PC hardware, as well as various Windows and Mac operating systems and applications.
  • You can excel in a fast-paced environment, adapting to multiple demands and shifting priorities.
  • You are a team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
  • You love to learn, try new things and think outside the box.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with ticket tracking, tech support tools, documentation platforms and diagnostic systems.
  • An understanding of LAN technologies and the ability to help in the administration of local area network operations.
  • Scripting/coding experience, preferably Python.
  • Knowledge of remote desktop technologies such as PCoIP and RGS.
  • Familiarity with common systems tools and protocols (BIOS,DNS/DHCP, LDAP, Active Directory).
  • Solid knowledge of best practices in IT administration and system security (ISO/IEC 27001, ZeroTrust).

Additional Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with software packages used in the animation or VFX industries such as Maya, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.
  • Familiarity with CG Animation, VFX, or video game production environments & common pipelines.
  • Familiarity with AWS and other cloud services.
  • Familiarity with Linux.
  • Familiarity with M&E Content Security Practices and Guidelines (TPN, MPA Security Guidelines).
