This is a short-term contract, under 1 year, and can be a remote working position.
Ideally artists will be based in Ireland, however, the role is open to all artists, but applicants must be able to work within a 4 hour time difference of the Irish timezone to allow for daily interaction with the Creative and production teams.
We will endeavour to respond to all applicants, but due to the high volume of applications we receive a reply might not always be possible.

Work closely with the Art Director and CG Supervisor to establish creative and technical workflows that constantly strive to meet client and internal quality expectations for Character Rigging on the project
Oversee and manage the Character Rigging team to make sure that they meet the creative and technical requirements of the project
Create and maintain high level character rigs for production
Review Character Models and flag potential problems and solutions
Work closely with modeling department to create edge flows and retopology that meets the rigging technical requirements
Oversee client and internal notes, providing direction and feedback to the Character Rigging Team as required
Work closely with the Production Team in the management of the department, creating team schedules and setting tasks for the team as well as flagging any potential issues or delays
Attend client meetings and Review Calls as necessary
Work closely with the Art Director, CG Supervisor, Modeling Lead & Pipeline TD to establish efficient techniques, topology, naming and other conventions to optimize the character rigging process
Collaborate and maintain transparent communication with other department supervisors and leads
Support a collaborative and creative environment that produces awesome Giant projects. Including coaching and mentorship to members of your team
Create tools and scripts to increase efficiency in the department
Track tasks and meet production deadlines
Minimum of 5 years experience in rigging
At least 2 years of experience as Lead in the animation industry
Strong knowledge of rigging techniques
Strong knowledge of animation requirements
High level knowledge of rigging in Maya
Experience with Shotgun
Task driven, self-motivated, and proactive
Solid comprehension of mathematics
Knowledge of Python a plus
Ability to perform duties whilst being aware of deadlines
Great communication skill and ability to work interactively with production and other departments to solve production challenges
