Giant is seeking a Render Wrangler for an iconic animation series.

Position Overview

This is a full-time position. Ideally, artists will be based in Ireland. However, the role is open to international applicants, but applicants must be able to work remotely within a +-2 hour time difference from the Irish timezone to allow for daily interaction with the creative and production teams.

Position Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that render jobs are properly prioritized in the queue system so that project goals are met while monitoring the render farm’s health and status regularly.
  • Monitoring rendering quality and quantity, as well as making the required corrections (troubleshooting) when needed.
  • Communicating with the IT Manager and Creative Supervisors on outstanding hardware and software issues, as well as overall render farm performance and efficiency (maximization) across the facility.
  • Monitor disk server status. Perform backups, archiving and restores.
  • Support the artists and leads by responding to their help inquiries and errors.
  • Assistance in the creation of production-supporting tools with the R&D or Pipeline team.

Position Requirements

  • Good understanding of TV/Film production processes and pipelines.
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills, plus the ability to track and reconcile multiple priorities.
  • Independent, proactive, and trustworthy.
  • High level of urgency.
  • Knowledge of a render farm manager, such as Deadline.
  • Knowledge of ShotGrid/Shotgun is a must.
  • Knowledgeable in Windows, Linux and Mac environments.
  • Experience with software such as Nuke, Maya, RedShift, Adobe After Effects, and 3D/2D software plug-ins.
  • Experience with Python a plus.
