Position Overview

This is a full-time position and will be based in our studio in Dublin, Ireland.  There is flexibility for remote working but applicants should be in the same timezone as the studio +/- 2hours.

Position Responsibilities

  • Help improve, and support the production pipelines
  • Contribute to the development and constant improvement of Giant’s pipeline
  • Provide technical advice and support for artists
  • Help solve production issues that require technical expertise
  • Collaborate with pipeline team and senior production supervisors to develop specific new tools and workflows
  • Liaise between production and technology departments, translating production needs into technical requests
  • Work closely with the Pipeline Supervisor to plan and execute pipeline improvements based on the long term goals for Giant
  • Collaborate with IT to help evaluate and integrate changes to the infrastructure
  • Help document tools and workflow and train staff on those processes

Position Requirements

  • A team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to think critically, and the ability to diagnose and solve problems independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Graphics, or equivalent and/or experience to equal that level of technical and creative knowledge and professionalism
  • Experience with third party software packages: Adobe Photoshop, Foundry Flix, Autodesk Maya, Foundry Nuke, Autodesk Shotgun (required)
  • Proficiency with Python scripting language (required)
  • Experience in computer animation, visual effects, or the game industry (preferred)
  • Experience, including pipeline and plugin development, with many third party VFX/Animation software packages (preferred)
  • Experience with software development languages: Java, Javascript, C++
  • Experience with other toolkits and systems: CI, Git, Mel, Deadline, Maya API
  • Experience with OSX, Windows, and Linux operating systems (preferred)
